Dance Competition

Get ready for a high-energy, crowd-pumping competition at the Fresno Greek Fest!

We’re calling all dynamic dance groups to show off their most electrifying performances at this year’s Dance Competition. This isn’t your Yiayia and Papou’s traditional dance showcase – it’s a celebration of modern, high-energy, and bold performances. If you have what it takes to captivate a crowd, we want YOU to take the stage!

Grand Prize: $5000
Plus, each group will receive a $200 Greek Fest Meal Card!

Judging Criteria

The judges will be looking for:

  1. Crowd Entertainment Value – How well do you engage and excite the audience?
  2. Dance Energy & Group Cohesiveness – Does your group move as one with energy that lights up the room?
  3. Costuming & Visual Expression – How creative and visually striking is your performance?
  4. Bonus Points for Breakout Performances – Show us something unexpected! Surprise us with your virtuosity and creativity.

Entry Details

Entry Deadline: August 1, 2025

When submitting, please include the following details:

  1. Dance Group Name
  2. Hometown or Region
  3. Names of Individual Dancers
  4. Preferred Performance Days: (Friday & Saturday) or (Saturday & Sunday)

Rules & Guidelines

  1. Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older to compete.
  2. Group Size: Each dance group must have a minimum of 5 dancers.
  3. Routine Length: Your dance routine should be approximately 5 minutes in length.
  4. Open to All Groups: Dance groups are not limited to church-sponsored teams. We welcome supergroups made up of individuals from different groups!
  5. Performance Scheduling: Each dance group must perform one evening performance and one afternoon performance (either on Friday & Saturday or on Saturday & Sunday). Specific time slots will be assigned after all entries have been received.
  6. Waiver Requirement: A signed waiver is required for all participants.
